Tonight I would fuck the blonde in the front row who continued to visually rip my clothes off with every little blink she took. Her tits were hanging out of her shirt and she licked her lips and batted her eyes at me. The set was nearing the end and I could feel her gaze. When I looked away and back at her, it was like her eyes had never left me. I liked when a woman knew what she wanted. Blue and green lights flashed over the stage then washed across the crowd. When we made eye contact again, her tongue traced the outside of her plump bottom lip and at that moment I knew she wasDTF. Her being down to fuck made this so much easier but then again, being the lead singer of the Band of Brothers made panties magically melt. I’d be her fantasy for the night. I’m sure there would be many more one night stands considering each show from Florida to New York, all the way to California was sold out.The drums beat on as I screamed out the next few lyrics. “I won’t let the world decide. I’ll die before that happens.”The drums stopped and the distortion was cut leaving a melodic strum of Nikolas’s guitar.

The lights faded when walked off stage leaving the crowd screaming and yelling at the top of their lungs. Jex, Nic, and Rex had huge smiles covering their faces as they chugged the water the technicians handed us. This would never get old. Moments like this were the ones we lived and worked for. Once the chanting and clapping rose to the maximum volume, the four of us walked back onstage and gave the fans what they wanted, an encore.

Green and yellow lights flashed over the crowd and smoke hovered at the bottom of the stage. We played three more songs. People sang and swayed to the lyrics and music. Some jumped up and down, feeling the full beat of the drums while others banged their heads. The feeling of having thousands of people chanting my words would never become real. More often than not, I felt like I was in a dream, one that I never wanted to wake from.

During the last song, I pointed to the blonde. By the way she was dressed in a tight pink shirt and a skirt that showed the bottom of her ass cheeks, I knew she wanted to be seen. She could have possibly had this night planned from the beginning. Randomly, I chose a few others from the crowd to join us, to dance in front of our audience, to feel the temporary power. It was something I did every show, every tour. It was a habit of sorts.

Security helped the girls climb on the stage and they lifted their arms and shook their asses. Before the song ended, the technicians led the girls’ side stage as cannons of small fireworks shot from the floor. After the final song, my brothers and played the crowd and threw drumsticks and guitar picks. The yelling didn’t stop for minutes and the audience realized we weren’t coming back out. I walked side stage where girls anxiously waited us. I smiled, popping an eyebrow at my chosen woman for the night, and she instantly came to me. I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and hers hung on my waist. My brothers stopped in the green room with the other girls, but Blondie and I walked to the bus.

“I’m Lindsey,” she whispered in my ear before we reached the end of the hallway. I smiled at her and pushed open the exit door. Groupies and fans waited near the bus and as soon as we walked up they rushed it.

“I’ll be out in a bit,” I said, smiling at them with pearly whites. “My brothers are coming out that door over there. Really soon.”

I hated to out their exit strategy, but I wanted to take my time burying my dick deep inside Misty or Christy or whatever the fuck her name was. It didn’t matter. Names never did.

Invisible Love Letter

(The Love Letter Duet #1)

Synopsis

Love is fatal; a snake that slithers into your life, poisons you with its venom, and leaves you there to die.

I swore I wouldn’t be my parents.
I swore I would stay away from the limelight.

Falling in love with a musician was definitely out of the question.

Weston Carter was all kinds of wrong for a girl like me. He was musician, a womanizer, and a first class heartbreaker.

I didn’t know a love like this could exist. Our love was epic, the kind people wrote stories about. We fell into it hard, unable to control our feelings.

I set myself up for a shattered heart.
A broken life.
A fucked up love story.

EXCERPT

I’m feeling good after finishing the free drink, and I think I’ve got a handle on these shoes. Battling for bravery, I spin around and get to my feet, ready to go ask this man all the questions I’ve practiced in my head three times over. I strut across the room, knowing his eyes follow my path. I can feel it. It sets my body on fire as my hips sway to the rapid beat of my heart, my legs feeling a little like my favorite brand of jelly.

Suddenly, mid-stride, knowing that he’s watching, I forget how to walk. I stumble over my own two feet and tumble onto all fours, skidding my knee and landing in a sticky puddle of lord knows what not far from his feet. My driver’s license falls out of my bra and goes sliding across the grimy floor as the crowd starts to hollow out around me.

This is my worst nightmare come true. People start to point, laugh, and stare. I crawl across the floor to grab my photo ID and stuff it back to where the sun don’t shine, wishing I could crawl into a hole and die. I pray that I get trampled by the dancers, while gathering enough courage to look up, but as an upbeat song ends, a snippy jack ass makes a comment that leaves me frigid.

He flips my skirt up with the toe of his shoe. Why did I wear this stupid get-up, again? Cringing, my eyes fall back to the floor. I’ve got myself in a hell of a predicament here, or so I thought until a pair of big shoes walks up and stops next to me. Look at the size of them feet! Shit is about to get real.

“Is there a problem here?” The depth of the threat in his voice sends a delicious shiver down my body. I can’t see him, but I see the way the problem scurries away and how the other men wither into the darkness.

It’s him. It’s him! I know it’s him.

Him must have a really nice view of my ass right about now, and I wonder whether he likes it. The way he blocks everyone else’s view makes me feel protected, like he wants me and he doesn’t like to share.

“Look at me,” he orders.

When I do, he’s standing above me, with a flock of other men scurrying away. I feel incompetent in his presence—like a total blonde—sitting on my heels and apparently incapable of forming a complete sentence. He serves me a smile and extends a hand in a friendly gesture.

“Can I at least help you up?” he asks, with the most deep and sensual voice.

In a daze I take his hand, gazing into stormy grey eyes with a swirl of darkness. He pulls me to my feet. He’s tall—very tall—and clean cut, with dark hair and mysterious eyes. A girl could get hypnotized by those eyes.

He catches my smile and lets me study him. Then, with a wink, he plucks me from the dance floor and takes me to the nearest open bar table. He doesn’t let me go until I’m being tucked into a seat. I pull my skirt under my thighs and settle onto the chair he offers.

He takes the seat across from me and smiles before hollering across the table. “You okay?”

A nervous laugh reaches my mouth, but I refuse to let it out. “Yeah, I’ll be okay.” A piece of light brown hair falls into my eyes when I glance down at the table. I brush it aside and fold my lips together.

“I did that once, it doesn’t tickle.”

My mouth drops open as I take in another look at his striking features. “Tripping in high heels?”

He laughs. “Falling on my ass in public. It’s usually a sign of a good time.”

I wouldn’t know. “I don’t suppose your ass was hanging out, too.” I cringe from the memory, even though I still have a bruised knee and a sticky hand as an unwelcome reminder.

“No, I don’t think it was. But my ass has had its fair share of public nudity.”

I laugh anxiously. What I would do to see that rock hard ass.

“Maybe I should save that story for another time,” he says, noticing how intrigued I am by his conversation.

I smile softly and nod in agreement as a blush warms my pale cheeks.

“Are you here alone?”

It seems like a bold question, and I should probably lie. “Yeah.” I search for something brilliant to add to the conversation. “You?”

His sexy, narrow eyes peek out from beneath the curve of his ball cap. “My brother.”

I nod, feeling a little less comfortable in the situation. I wonder if his brother is just as big and beautiful as he is. I sigh, scrunching my eyes to adjust the annoying film over my eyes from the contacts. This guy is tall, dark, handsome, well-dressed—way out of my league. The thought crosses my mind: this is probably only happening because he pities me, because I am here alone. What was I thinking coming here tonight? I feel like such a fool.

“You look like you could use another drink.”

Do I now? Perceptive, he is. I don’t know where I find my nerve, but while I’m here— “Are you buying?”

Before I even have a chance to seek out a waitress, one is standing at his side. “What can I get for you?” She smiles at him seductively.

I could learn a thing or two from this girl. Her shirt is a little tight in the chest; the buttons near her cleavage are busting at the seams. I bet he likes that. But he only looks to me when he speaks.

“Two bottles of Bud, please.”

The waitress waits for him to make eye contact with her, but he doesn’t. In fact, his eyes never leave mine. He wants to order for me? I’m game, because being under his gaze is a heady cocktail that I’m not ready to give up just yet. I’ve never reaped this kind of attention from a man before. I must have done something right.

“Are you from around here?” he asks me, with a quizzical expression on his face. His voice fluctuates with curiosity and his dark eyes shine with interest. He leans in toward me, and our small table in this crowded room is suddenly feeling very intimate.

“Born and raised, unfortunately. You?”

He shakes his head and takes a long draw from his beer, polishing it off before answering. “Naw. I’m only in town for the weekend. A family thing. But I’d rather not talk about that tonight.”

I nod with relief. “I respect that.”

A pleasant silence passes between us. I’m all shy smiles and he’s all sex-god on steroids. Just sitting at his table has my heart racing and breathes cut short. I’ve never felt so attracted to a non-fictional man.

Beautiful sexy young adult attractive and sensuality pretty brun

“What about you? Let’s talk about you,” he suggests, being a man of few words. That makes me super nervous. I never talk about me. I talk about authors and articles and books, but me? No.

“There’s nothing much to talk about.”

He gets up from his seat and pulls a chair over from the table next to us, stealing it without asking and sliding up beside me until our knees are touching and his arm is hovering behind my back. His fingers skim over my shoulder, tracing the fallen strap of my bra. Everywhere his fingers pass, a wake of tingles follow. Air slips between my lips hurriedly and a coolness creeps along my skin. Nerves. It has to be the nerves.

“I don’t believe that for one second. You look like a woman with stories.”

The deep seductive sound he makes with his voice is making it hard for me to breathe. “I do?”

Only one thing is certain: I’m drinking way too fast for a girl who had planned on driving herself home, and yet my beer disappears shortly after it’s placed in front of me. I chase it with another Bud. Talking becomes much easier after that. I probably say more than I should, but I’m feeling good—real good—especially when he touches me. And, since I don’t expect to do anything like this ever again, I’m going to make the best of it.

It’s not until I polish off another bottle of Budweiser that I start to feel the full effects of drinking too much alcohol.

He notices my surprise. “Drink much?”

“Once a year,” I admit, then slap my hand over my mouth for giving away how plain and boring my ordinary life is.

Little did I know, that was all about to change.

Snippet

The soft rain was coming down steadily, landing on the tree-lined streets and running in rivulets down the side of the curb. Children raced from the stickball game they were playing in the middle of the road, hoping the rain would stop soon. Mothers came out to their porches to check and make sure children were all present and accounted for. The precipitation the children complained about put a smile on the farmers’ faces. It had been a dry season in the flat Great Plains, and they hoped the downpour would be enough to put some moisture in their crops.

Dark clouds brooded through the Midwestern sky; she could see them from her vantage point on his bed. She could hear the rain ping against the window, the sound was hypnotic. She always loved how the drops would fall against the glass and then run down in random paths, repetitive but different, soothing, like watching a campfire. The sky was all she could see outside his window, since her wrists were tied to the headboard. He had just finished restraining her and double checked his knots to make sure she was secure without being tight enough to cut off her circulation. Once satisfied, he turned to the dresser to choose which clamps and clothespins he wanted to apply to her body.

This was the worst part. The waiting. And he knew it. She was naked, tied up and vulnerable on his bed, and all she could do was wait in delicious suspense. Wait while he picked out what he was going to torture her with.

He came back with some clothespins. “We’ll start off with these today,” he said and gently pinched some skin above her nipple. He opened the clothespin and applied it to the pinched flesh. The initial ‘ow’ subsided and her nipple hardened in anticipation. He licked his lips and did the same to her other breast.

“Oh for heaven’s sake,” he said and walked back to the dresser, returning with a blindfold. “I forgot how much you love this.”

She lifted her head to let him put the blindfold on her. Now, in complete darkness, she could relax and relinquish control. She loved the mystery and the trust that existed for this to happen. She took a few deep breaths and waited for the remainder of the clothespins to be put on her body.

He savored the sight of her there and knew that things were going to get much better.

Say A Prayer is the fourth novella in the Like A Lady serial. It cannot be read as a standalone.
It hurts. God, does it ever hurt. Having your heart ripped from its home in your chest, metaphorically or literally, isn’t a fun thing. No, it’s gruesome, and once in a lifetime was more than enough. Twice. Twice is almost unbearable. I’ll make it, though. I’m strong enough to persevere, to move on, and I will because I know that there’s no other option. I can’t stop living. I won’t stop living. ~Red
One step. Two. I’ll take it a day at a time and hope to hell the pain goes away. The thing is, I know it won’t. It just keeps getting stronger because without her love, I’m lost. And it sucks. This feeling, the loss, it’s getting worse, but what am I supposed to do about it? She won’t listen to me. Nothing I say has swayed her, not a bit. Why can’t she see I’m miserable without her? ~Mason

No Offense, Darlin’

BadGirlLikeMe
Jake Roberson is nothing but a lying bastard. Every whisper that falls from his lips is a betrayal, but I can’t seem to convince myself to walk away. When he comes sauntering toward me, all those particulars go right out the window, and I cave. Every. Single. Time.
No more, though. I can’t. There’s too much at stake this time around, and I won’t have it.
Besides, one night with Beau, that’s all it took. I’m sunk. He was amazing in every way imaginable, and he still is. Why he likes someone like me, I can’t fathom. He’s such a good man, and he only ever sees the best in people, me included. It’s an amazing thing. The way he looks at the world, it’s like magic. Every bone, every muscle, every fiber of Beau Reed’s being is good, and he never stops proving that to me. He’s a good guy deep down in his core where it counts. I’ve always known that, even when I first met him. It’s something that radiates out from him like this big glowing light. Never have I ever met anyone like him.
But because he’s good, I have to make him go. ~Shelby
I can’t focus on anything else:
Soft, brown hair hanging in waves down to creamy skin that looks all too damned touchable.
Big eyes that could never be described with any justice, brown to green, maybe hazel, with so much vibrant light, etching them forever into memory.
Plump, smooth, kissable lips that are the stuff of fantasy, with the bottom one slightly fuller than the top, perfect.
Shelby.
It’s always Shelby, always been Shelby, and there doesn’t seem to be anything or anyone that can make that any different.
Except, now, there’s more at play than just her. For once, it’s not about Shelby Case, and despite my best efforts to save her, there’s things that I can’t rescue her from. ~Beau

No Offense, Darlin’ is the first Like A Lady novel. While it could be read as a standalone, for the full effect of Beau and Shelby’s backstory, the Like A Lady serial should be read as a prequel to this novel. The first part of the serial, Big Girl Panties, is free.

Mom always tells me that when life gives you lemons you squeeze the heck out of them and hope for some lemonade, but after catching that no-good lying, jerk of a bastard cheating on me seconds before we were supposed to be married, I do what any self-respecting Southern girl would do: throw a punch and hide under my blankie. Now, Mary Lou thinks I need a night of fun and adventure. I agree to go out, planning to get her off my back, but when I find myself in Mason Pierce’s arms, I’m thanking my lucky stars, and my best friend. ~Red
Freemont, Oklahoma, is the last place on the whole damned planet that I want to spend my summer and working on my parents’ ranch is the last thing I want to do, but damned if that’s not what I’m doing. Monroe and I need a night away from this place, a night to blow off steam. A party at the lake sounds like a mighty fine idea, and after catching a glimpse of Red Summers in the firelight, I’m quickly changing my tune. ~Mason

Woah! It’s the only thing that I can think because my head’s so full of Mason Pierce I can’t think about anything else. Who would have thought two weeks could change your perception so completely? Not me, but it surely has. I’m a gonner: hook, line, and sinker. There’s only one thing runnin’ around my head, and it’s Mason. I want him. Bad. It’s fun. It’s light. The sex is explosive. What more can a girl ask for? Right?~Red
My bed. My truck. And everywhere else I can think of. That’s where I want Red, and I want her there, now, without all the damned interruptions that seem to surround us. Yeah, they’re supposed to be our friends, but I’m seriously starting to wonder if they’re getting off torturing me. Because that’s what this is, wanting Red, having Red but not being able to have her, it’s torture.~Mason

It’s a summer fling; just keep telling yourself that and you’ll be alright. This thing with Mason Pierce, it’s just a fling, something fun to pass the time. He’s a rebound from the disastrous breakup, a band-aid, a patch over a wound that will help the hurt heal, right? ~Red
If someone had told me two months ago that I’d be spending the summer with Red Summers in my arms, I’d have called them crazy, but here I am and here she is. Life is just about as perfect as it can be. Except, it feels like she’s pulling away instead of drawing closer. Everyday, it seems that Red is putting more and more distance between us, and I don’t understand why. ~Mason
