Book Set #1 (Books 1 – 4)

nickisosebeebookset1

SYNOPSIS

A Kindle exclusive: The first four books in the Nicki Sosebee series in one neat bundle. If you liked Jade C. Jamison’s Tangled Web, you’ll love the Nicki Sosebee series.

GOT THE LIFE: Nicki Sosebee has been working low-paying jobs ever since she finished school, but now that she’s older, she wants more. She’s a novice reporter trying to learn the ropes. Just as she’s getting her career goals on track, though, her love life gets worse and worse. Sure, she has no problems picking up good-looking guys for brief flings, but relationships? Out of the question. Maybe it’s because Sean, her gorgeous best friend, just can’t see her as more than a buddy. So when Sean encourages her as she pursues her first headline-producing story, Nicki realizes that her life’s pretty sweet…if only she can live long enough to see tomorrow’s front page.

DEAD: Nicki’s love life might suck, but her sex life is great. The only way both could be spectacular would be if her best friend Sean would look at her as more than just a friend. Nicki knows she’s stuck in the friend zone, so she focuses her energies on her job. She’s becoming a better reporter every day, so when her editor asks her to interview a local politician, Nicki is thrilled. But when the politician’s secretary ends up dead, it’s anybody’s guess as to who did it. Nicki has a few ideas, though, and finds herself in deep trouble as she pokes her nose where she thinks it belongs.

NO PLACE TO HIDE: The Winchester Tribune publishes an article warning the women of Winchester that there is a sexual predator on the loose in the streets of the town they once thought was safe. Danger doesn’t stop Nicki, though, and it’s not till it’s too late that she discovers the criminal in the place she least suspects. And there’s no one who can save her this time. Meanwhile, she decides that her new love interest Jesse might be worth more of her time…but he’s not making it easy.

RIGHT NOW: Nicki is becoming a better reporter, so much so that her boss Neal leans on her more and more to get the good stuff. So when a rash of robberies hits the downtown Winchester area, Nicki is reporting the damage…and probably getting a little too close for the bad guys’ comfort. As if that weren’t enough, Nicki finds herself in a full-fledged love triangle between Jesse and Sean…and she can’t bear to choose between them.

Discover what other Jade C. Jamison fans have been buzzing about!

Warning: Not for the faint of heart! This book contains explicit sex and naughty language. Proceed with caution…if you dare.

Book Set #2 (Books 5 – 8)

nickisosebeebookset2

SYNOPSIS

ONE MORE TIME: Nicki notices there is a big problem with the homeless population in Winchester, and the local shelter doesn’t have any more room for them. Nicki becomes irate when the City Council decides to do everything in its power to drive the homeless out of town, because she has other ideas. Meanwhile, she and Jesse are still going strong, if they can keep everyone else out of their business.

LOST: Nicki and Jesse have broken up again, but this time it’s for good. She realizes how much Jesse meant to her when she finds it hard to fly solo. And she’s lost her touch, striking out with one guy after another. Her BFFs Brandy and Jillian try to take her mind off her pain, and Nicki finally reveals to them why she’s never been able to forget about Sean, but she doesn’t miss the opportunity to get down and dirty with a local rock star. In the meantime, the teenage daughter of a Winchester lawyer is kidnapped, and Nicki reports on the crime, hoping readers can offer clues to the authorities and find the girl…before it’s too late. But what Nicki discovers leaves her horrified.

INNOCENT BYSTANDER: Nicki, now disillusioned, realizes that she is but a tiny cog in a big machine, and she begins to feel like she’s going to be swallowed up. As she opens her eyes to all that’s around her, her life begins to fall apart. She loses her car, her apartment, and almost loses her job, all to circumstances beyond her control, and the bad guys have nothing to do with it. But, through adversity, Nicki learns what she’s made of. She begins to dig deep into the underbelly of Winchester, and she finds that the drug trade isn’t just for the junkies.

BLIND: Nicki is angry. Now that she’s seen what the people in power will do to keep their control, she knows she has to play it safe. She’s threatened to topple their thrones and they’re feeling nervous. But she’s also feeling guilty about the murder of a prostitute whom she thinks she was responsible for, so she makes it her mission to help all the women of the night working in Winchester. And she does it the only way she knows how—by reporting what she’s learned. And with Sean behind her, she knows she can do anything she’s set her mind to.

Nicki Sosebee is a strong woman who’s not afraid to go after what she wants, whether it’s a man or a story. She’s tough and her mouth shows it. She’s a free spirit and feels no need to apologize for who she is or what she believes in.

Excerpt

I lay in Kevin’s arms for longer than I could calculate, staring out the window and watching as the sky grew darker. Part of me wished we could stay like this forever, in this place the world seemed to have forgotten about, away from everything bad and horrible and dark.

That might have been nice, but there was still the question of my kids…and the rest of my family. I needed to know they were all right, had to find out where they were. I didn’t know how the hell I was going to do that or when, but I needed to.

Up against my body, he felt strong where I felt weak, warm where I could only sense cold. He had become to me everything I always knew he was, and the realization that I had fallen in love with him again struck me hard. It had been an easy slide, one I hadn’t even known I was on until my feet were back on the ground.

I decided there, in his arms, that I wasn’t going to fight it.

But I also wasn’t going to acknowledge it. After our weird past as teens, I didn’t know what to expect from him in the aftermath. I only knew this moment, and I was going to cherish it, hold it tightly in my heart like I might clench a locket in my fist, and then I was going to let tomorrow bring what it would. I would leave this room with no expectations, no hope.

It was something I’d grown pretty good at over the years.

As if he could read my mind, he said, “We should probably head back.”

“Yeah, I was thinking that. I think a storm’s moving in, don’t you?” I turned around in his arms. Part of me didn’t want to. I was sad—profoundly—but felt like I shouldn’t be drowning in that emotion. I didn’t want to give away anything in my head.

His voice was soft when he said, “Yeah, I think so, so we shouldn’t screw around.”

I smiled in spite of myself. “A little late.”

He grinned too, and I imagined that he was feeling inside the same way I was but also wanted to try to put on a happy face. But he pulled me close and kissed me tenderly. He didn’t say anything, though, even after his lips left mine.

I wanted to acknowledge the significance of his earlier revelation, even though part of me was afraid to go there, so afraid of what the truth was. But I had to know. “Do you really remember me…or were you just saying that?”

Excerpt

All those thoughts were in my head, whether buried or at the forefront, as the tears began to stream down my cheeks. I hardly registered when Kevin pulled me into his chest and held me tightly as I sobbed, letting it all go.

Once my crying jag was over, I marveled at the man holding me. It wasn’t too long ago that he had said he never knew what to do when someone was crying. So I swiped at my face and nose with my hand, realizing his coat had absorbed a lot of the teary evidence, and looked up at him. “You did just fine,” I said.

He started laughing. “So did you.”

Then I laughed hard. Between that and the tears, I was beginning to feel like a whole new woman. “No, I didn’t mean this,” I said, waving my hand toward my back, indicating the fully dead bodies in the snow behind me. My voice was softer when I said, “With me crying. You said you never knew what to do when someone started crying.”

“Oh.” Kevin was a quiet man, speaking less now than he had when he was younger, but I believed I had rendered him mute.

“What you did right there was perfect.”

Is theirs a match made in heaven…or hell?

Nick Channing, drummer for Fully Automatic, has never taken sex seriously. He’s had fun and met dozens of women—mostly one-night stands—and he prefers it that way. From his parents to his friends, he’s witnessed love and relationships firsthand and believes women are nothing but a headache.

Nick, Brad, and Val team up again to launch her new band Val Hella. There’s one problem, though: they still need a bassist. They audition dozens of women, trying to find the perfect one and settle on Sabrina, known onstage simply as Sinna, a bad ass metal head who’s perfect for the band: pierced, tattooed, dressed in black from head to toe, and she handles her bass with precision. She is a force to be reckoned with and Nick is smitten.

When Nick gets her alone the first time to lay on the charm, he’s met with a coolness he’s never experienced. Sabrina is mysterious and thoroughly unimpressed with Nick and his behavior, and that’s when he decides he has to have her. As he falls headlong for her, he discovers her secrets, one dark shadow at a time. He thinks she loves him back, but he can’t be sure. By the time he’s completely down the rabbit hole, his heart’s so entangled, he fears he might not be able to save himself. Can she save him or will she wreck him for all time?

“What tricks you got, babycakes?”

Brina’s voice was low, almost derisive.  “I don’t need tricks.  My playing speaks for itself.”

He couldn’t let that one go.  “Yeah, and how many personal fans do you have, Sinna?”

She sneered—actually sneered—and, for some strange reason, Nick felt a twitch in his cock at the sight.  He stopped himself from bursting into laughter, because that would have made her angrier.  While he didn’t mind her angry, he hoped to be able to enjoy a real conversation.  She took two steps closer to him and said, “I don’t count how many personal fans I have, if I even have any.  It’s not about me, Nick, any more than it’s about you.”  Her voice wrapped around his name like honey, but it oozed disgust.  He still wasn’t sure if he found it hot or not.  She continued, not giving him a chance to evaluate his emotions.  “It’s about us as a group, as a band, and until we gel, there will be division, and if we’re not cohesive, what the hell kind of music are we gonna make?”

“I see your point, but I have a counterpoint.  If you are all about the band and don’t give a shit about yourself, then where’s your pride?  Your personal responsibility?”  He stood up.  He’d been joking before, but now he was dead serious.  Some small part of himself felt like she might be questioning his integrity, and that pissed him off.  “When you fuck up onstage—and you will—will you blame all of us?  We’re a band, after all.”  He couldn’t help the tone in his voice.  There would be no way for her to mistake how irritated he was becoming.  It had been cute before, but now she was pushing some button that set him off.  He wasn’t sure if he was angrier with her for pissing him off or himself for getting mad at her in the first place.

She rolled her eyes.  “Oh, come on, Nick.  You know that’s not what I meant.”  She got closer to him.

He closed the gap, so close that their noses almost touched.  “How the fuck should I know that?”  His eyes searched hers, trying to decide if she was wanting to start a war.  But then, as he continued looking back and forth between those blue orbs, he saw them soften ever so slightly.  He let his jaw relax a little then, but he still couldn’t quite read her.

Her words, however, were still acerbic.  “Because you’re a smart fucking guy.”  She cocked an eyebrow again.  He couldn’t decide if he fucking loved the way she did that or if it was just another irritant.  “Or so I thought.”

Nick tried once more to assess her and fell short.  He could feel some kind of weird electricity sparking between them.  At first, he’d thought it was the anger, but then he realized that maybe there was something more.  He moved his head a few centimeters closer and she didn’t budge.  His voice was barely a whisper when he said, “I am a smart fucking guy.  I’m so goddamned smart that I figured out what this is all about.”

She furrowed her previously cocked brow, but he barely saw it as he brought his mouth down on hers.  He knew that had to be the issue at hand—the sexual attraction between them both was interfering with their ability to communicate.  It was making them angry, accusatory, and they weren’t acting like bandmates or even acquaintances.  They were spitting at each other like they were mortal enemies.  That might have been okay, but Nick definitely had other ideas about which way their relationship was heading.

He heard her mumble, “What the—?”  Then he expected her to fight, based on her initial stance, but she let go and gave in, kissing him back.

It was an incredible explosion in his head, the sparks he felt because of the way their tongues danced together and the warmth of her body close to his.  Feeling more in control then, he slid his hands around her waist and pulled her close…

Author Bio
For years, Jade C. Jamison tried really hard to write what she thought was more “literary” fiction, but she found herself compelled to write what you read by her today—sometimes gritty, raw, realistic stories and other times humorous, light tales—but most of the stories she writes revolve around relationships and characters finding their way through life.  While she doesn’t confine herself to just one genre, nor is there a nice neat label for what she writes, most of her work could be called erotic romance.

She lives in Colorado with her husband and four children.

Kiefer Steele, vocalist for Shock Treatment, has been battling some demons of his own. He’s been a nothing most of his life, but world-famous J.C. The only ray of hope in his life has been his continuing online friendship with Heather. The two met in person once, backstage at a concert, and their friendship has grown stronger.

They haven’t seen each other in three years, though, and both have changed immensely.

They walked off the deck and Kiefer said, “So what did you want to talk about?”

“Hmm. I’m not even sure where to start.”

“No pressure.” Kiefer looked up toward the mountain across the road. It was covered in evergreen trees and the sky above was a light blue, clean and clear. He could see why Johnny wanted to live here. Regular worries were gone, far and away, and it was like regular shit just didn’t matter.

Heather stopped walking, so Kiefer slowed and turned to face her. “Um…I have a proposal for you.”

He raised his eyebrow. “Yeah?”

“Yeah.” She drew in a deep breath and looked in his eyes, but he could tell it was hard for her. “I, uh…I don’t want or need a relationship. But I’m so glad you’re my friend.”

Kiefer smiled. “Ditto.”

“So…just so we can get it out of our systems…why don’t we, uh, explore our attraction, but…when we leave here, things go back to the way they were.” Kiefer drew in a long, slow breath. Was she saying what he thought she was? “That sound okay?”

Honestly, no, it sounded like a cop-out. He thought some of telling her that, but he wanted her. He wanted her to continue to be a part of her life and he also wanted to step it up a notch after what they had experienced last night. This might be his only chance to convince her that a more intense relationship could be a good thing. So he nodded. “Yeah.” On impulse, he took her hand in his. He wanted to start now.

Heather had other ideas, though. “Not here.” Kiefer couldn’t help the look of confusion that he knew appeared on his face. She let go of his hand but got a little closer, almost as though she were afraid someone would be able to hear her. “If we’re going to go back to the way things were after this week, then I don’t want to give anybody here any bright ideas, and I don’t want to answer any questions or deal with any looks.”

He nodded, saying nothing. He could live with that. And that also gave him several days to see what he could do to change her mind.

Finger Bang by Jade C. Jamison

Finger Bang

EXCERPT

Rachel wasn’t waiting for anyone to keep up. “I read an article on it earlier today, so then I Googled it. Have any of you ever heard of tantric sex?” Shannon nodded her head but Maddy said no. Kaylee shook her head, but Rachel was already storming the castle. “Well, the concept is similar. It’s all Buddhist and higher level and stuff…but it’s fucking orgasms, you know? I mean…that shit’s insane! And to have someone doing it to you without expecting a blowjob in return?” She laughed. “I am so there.”

Maddy laughed along with her friend but then said, “Doesn’t that just make the person bringing it on an overpaid pretentious whore?”

“You would think so, but no. They are totally serious about it. You even keep your shirt on! They say they want to remove the goal—you know, that you have to orgasm. It’s more about the experience, focusing on the sensations. And it’s fifteen minutes. That’s it. And then you talk about it.”

Shannon burst out laughing. “You talk about it? What?! ‘Baby, was it good for you’?”

Rachel giggled. “No. Maybe. I don’t know!” The poor waiter handed Rachel her new drink and she donned a lustful smile. The alcohol was definitely talking. “Thank you so much. I will be tracking you down later. I want to stuff a tip down your pants.”

He smiled again, and Kaylee could see he was nervous. She thought he must have imagined Rachel as a jaguar, and if she got anywhere near him on the open plain, she’d chase his ass, knock him down, and tear into his flesh.

Kaylee suspected Rachel just might consider it. The girl got horny when she drank, and her lips got loose to boot, so her sex life (or want of one) was not a secret when she was imbibing.

Rachel said, “We are going to Boulder next week. We have to do this.”

Kaylee felt the blood drain from her face. No way. No way in hell was she going to do something crazy like that.

“Oh, my God, yes!” Maddy said, her voice higher in pitch, close to a squeal. Shannon was enthusiastic as well, her head pumping up and down with vigor. The three women then turned to look at Kaylee.

She was going to have to say something. Damn it. She waved her hands in front of herself. “Oh, no, girls. That’s way out of my comfort zone.”

Rachel reached across the table, patting Kaylee’s hand. “Exactly why you have to do it.”

Teaser-FingerBang

EXCERPT

Rachel leaned over the table and tipped her glass at Kaylee as though it were a pointer. “I’ll loosen you up before you graduate if it’s the last thing I do.” She sat back up and what little sobriety she’d seemed to possess just seconds ago had disappeared. “In the meantime, Maddy, Shannon? Come with me to the bar to fetch more drinks and we can iron out the details without making our prudish friend blush.”

Well, too late. As the three women slid out of the booth, Kaylee felt just that—a mad red flush racing up her face, stinging her cheeks. She hoped it wasn’t evident in the bar or maybe she could blame it on drinking, but Rachel had, with her few words, made Kaylee not only feel prudish but embarrassed. And in front of all people…

Once the women were up, though, Blaze showed no inkling of having registered his sister’s last words. Kaylee began to feel awkward then. What the hell would she say to this super hot guy after a conversation like that? She had decided to ask him how classes were going when he said, “I can’t blame you really. I don’t think I could do that either.” He grinned. “Even though I find the idea intriguing.” Kaylee felt her cheeks redden again, but she smiled before looking down at her glass once more. “Not gonna pay for it, though. Fuck that.”

Kaylee picked up her glass and sipped what little water was left in it, simply to have something to do. Her alcohol glass was drained as well, both down to ice cubes. She didn’t know what to say so she nodded her head and smiled. She’d always found Blaze’s looks and charm intimidating, so she was feeling more than a little tongue-tied. She didn’t want him to think she was a snooty bitch, though, so she said, “I agree.”

He rested his chin on his arms on the chair and said, “What’s the part that has you freaking out more? The fact that it would be a stranger or that you’d be paying for it?”

His question helped her relax a little. It felt like he was taking a practical approach and wanted to discuss the matter as two adults. They weren’t actually talking about orgasms or…fingers and clits, for God’s sake. So she took a deep breath and gave the matter a little thought. It didn’t take long for her to say, “I think it’s that it’s a stranger.” She didn’t know why she felt compelled to continue—especially with Blaze—but she did. “Seriously. It’s hard enough to relax and then you have someone you’ve never met before trying to make you feel good. I can’t imagine.” She smiled and rolled her eyes, hoping she appeared relaxed now, because she was far from it.

Blaze didn’t intend to help the matter at all. “What if it was you and me?”

Had she heard him right? And why the hell was her heart thudding in her chest? She had a hard time sucking in a breath, but when she was able to, she asked, “What do you mean?” Her voice was so low, she was surprised he could hear it.

“If I was the therapist.” He sat up and used the index and middle fingers of both his hands to air quote his last word. “You know…my sister, Maddy, and Shannon go to Boulder to have some stranger finger bang them, but what if someone you knew took care of you here?”
Her jaw didn’t drop to the table but she had lost all words. She just wished she could figure out if Blaze was yanking her chain or making her the offer of a lifetime.

EXCERPT

Kaylee squeezed her eyes closed and she could feel the anticipation build inside her, waiting for his finger to touch her. God, why wouldn’t her heart slow down? Trying to force herself to relax as he’d requested, she let her head fall back against his shoulder. She heard him whisper, “That’s it.”

And then he slid his finger down her slit. Oh. Okay. Oh, yeah. So…that felt really nice. Yeah, she’d have no problems focusing on the sensations he was going to create. That felt spectacular.

Another stroke. Oh, God, yeah. Yeah. Her last boyfriend had gone down on her a couple of times and it had felt nice, but he’d assaulted her with his tongue, and the sensations had been nice but overwhelming, and she hadn’t relaxed. No. She’d been quite tense, in spite of the good feelings.

Blaze, though, he was taking it slow as though he hadn’t a care in the world. Another stroke, and she had plenty of time to think about it, enjoy it, let the music wash over her while she could take in a deep breath of air and relish what was going on.

Okay, so maybe she’d been wrong. Maybe this was a fucking awesome idea, and she couldn’t wait to talk about it with her roommates. It was—

“Mmm.”

Holy shit. She’d just let a noise escape her mouth. Well, it wasn’t like she could have stopped it. It was feeling so damn—

A gasp. Wow. What the hell was he doing? She didn’t want him to stop. It was amazing. Each time his finger moved up and down over her, she could tell now that something was imminent. If he kept doing it, something was going to happen. She was building to something that was going to blow her mind, that much she knew now, and she wouldn’t have wanted him to quit for anything.

That was when she felt his warm lips on her neck, kissing her. Somehow he knew what to do to make her feel incredible, because his lips just added to whatever the hell he was doing below. Her breath was coming in gasps now, deep, hitting the bottom of her lungs as she drew each one in, and she could feel some weird connection between her clit and her brain. They were working in unison now and the world outside her house might have been burning down for all she knew and cared, because now her whole world was Blaze.

No. Make that his finger.

No. Not just his finger. His lips. His body cupping hers.

And that climb, that delicious, tight climb up to somewhere unknown…

No one writes a rock star book quite like Jade C. Jamison. Four of her rock star novels and one short story are collected together for the first time ever as Backstage Passion. From the local indie band scene to the famous multi-platinum album rock gods, from an innocent young woman playing lead vocalist to a cheating front-man, Jade weaves a story like no other.

Then Kiss Me: Casey Williams has left a loveless marriage and is trying to rebuild her life. She finds that, even though you can never go home again, you can find lust again, and she finds a love interest in Scott, her coworker. She also discovers his secret, that he’s a drummer for a heavy metal band, and falls hard for him…just in time to find that, between his questionable friends and psychotic maybe-ex-girlfriend, he might not be the right guy for her. But her heart beats like a drum for him, and she finds herself willing to play with fire to get closer.

Tangled Web: Katie Logan has had a secret crush on her best friend Johnny Church since high school, but he’s never looked at her the same way. So when Johnny—now a famous rock-and-roll guitarist—comes home to visit, Katie can’t bring herself to tell him she’s engaged to be married. She should have, though, because she soon discovers that maybe the attraction is mutual…

MADversary: Megan Walker doesn’t plan to attend her high school reunion, but her best friend Lisa begs her to come along. Megan doesn’t want to risk running into her old boyfriend Tyler Green, a man who has since become rich and famous as the front-man of a heavy metal band called Madversary. Lisa convinces her that Tyler would never show up for something like a reunion, so Megan gives in, only to regret it. Because when Tyler does show up, the spark reignites, and she doesn’t know that she can bear letting him go again.

Be Careful What You Wish For: Grad student Jessica is given an offer she plans to refuse—hundreds of dollars to try to seduce an angry wife’s maybe cheating husband. But when the price just so happens to cover Jessica’s much-needed car repairs and she finds hot rocker Kage irresistible, she decides to give it a try, no matter the ultimate cost.

Bullet: An Epic Rock Star Novel. What if you discover the man you want is toxic?

She’d tasted a little bit of heaven with him, and now they’ve gone through hell and back, but can their relationship take anymore?

Valerie Quinn is a naive college freshman when she meets on-the-rise rock star Ethan Richards. He’s an idealistic, handsome, reckless young man, but he’s captured her heart. She doesn’t give up on him and eventually his walls crumble down. By the time Valerie has given herself to him completely, she discovers he’s damaged and may be beyond help. Can she save Ethan and their relationship before he implodes, or will he self-destruct and take her with him?
