Tonight I would fuck the blonde in the front row who continued to visually rip my clothes off with every little blink she took. Her tits were hanging out of her shirt and she licked her lips and batted her eyes at me. The set was nearing the end and I could feel her gaze. When I looked away and back at her, it was like her eyes had never left me. I liked when a woman knew what she wanted. Blue and green lights flashed over the stage then washed across the crowd. When we made eye contact again, her tongue traced the outside of her plump bottom lip and at that moment I knew she was DTF. Her being down to fuck made this so much easier but then again, being the lead singer of the Band of Brothers made panties magically melt. I’d be her fantasy for the night. I’m sure there would be many more one night stands considering each show from Florida to New York, all the way to California was sold out.The drums beat on as I screamed out the next few lyrics. “I won’t let the world decide. I’ll die before that happens.”

The drums stopped and the distortion was cut leaving a melodic strum of Nikolas’s guitar.

The lights faded when walked off stage leaving the crowd screaming and yelling at the top of their lungs. Jex, Nic, and Rex had huge smiles covering their faces as they chugged the water the technicians handed us. This would never get old. Moments like this were the ones we lived and worked for. Once the chanting and clapping rose to the maximum volume, the four of us walked back onstage and gave the fans what they wanted, an encore.

Green and yellow lights flashed over the crowd and smoke hovered at the bottom of the stage. We played three more songs. People sang and swayed to the lyrics and music. Some jumped up and down, feeling the full beat of the drums while others banged their heads. The feeling of having thousands of people chanting my words would never become real. More often than not, I felt like I was in a dream, one that I never wanted to wake from.

During the last song, I pointed to the blonde. By the way she was dressed in a tight pink shirt and a skirt that showed the bottom of her ass cheeks, I knew she wanted to be seen. She could have possibly had this night planned from the beginning. Randomly, I chose a few others from the crowd to join us, to dance in front of our audience, to feel the temporary power. It was something I did every show, every tour. It was a habit of sorts.

Security helped the girls climb on the stage and they lifted their arms and shook their asses. Before the song ended, the technicians led the girls’ side stage as cannons of small fireworks shot from the floor. After the final song, my brothers and played the crowd and threw drumsticks and guitar picks. The yelling didn’t stop for minutes and the audience realized we weren’t coming back out. I walked side stage where girls anxiously waited us. I smiled, popping an eyebrow at my chosen woman for the night, and she instantly came to me. I wrapped my arm around her shoulder and hers hung on my waist. My brothers stopped in the green room with the other girls, but Blondie and I walked to the bus.

“I’m Lindsey,” she whispered in my ear before we reached the end of the hallway. I smiled at her and pushed open the exit door. Groupies and fans waited near the bus and as soon as we walked up they rushed it.

“I’ll be out in a bit,” I said, smiling at them with pearly whites. “My brothers are coming out that door over there. Really soon.”

I hated to out their exit strategy, but I wanted to take my time burying my dick deep inside Misty or Christy or whatever the fuck her name was. It didn’t matter. Names never did.

I dream up most of my material during my seventy-five minute commute to work. Some of it comes to fruition and other times it’s edited out again. But I hope that what made the cut is worthy of note.

I write paranormal romance novels for adults. No not erotica. Though there are some steamy scenes. I’m working on several novels at the present. Yes, more than one. I jump back and forth as my mood dictates. It’s the way I work best. Tempestuous, my first novel, released in 2012, Torrid in 2013 and Feral, the first of a new series in 2013. I’m working to complete Turbulent (Third and final novel for the Tempestuous series), a second novel for the Feral series, and two standalone novels.

SYNOPSIS

Austin Harris wanted two things in life. His band, Silver Knight, to reach success and his girlfriend, Amber West, by his side when it did. Amber wanted one thing in life; Austin. Sounded simple, right? Wrong.
When Silver Knight got its chance to tour, Austin and Amber had no idea how quickly their lives would change. Caught up in the pursuit of stardom, the pressures of his new life tested their trust and bent their relationship in ways they never imagined. With Austin on the road and Amber left behind, it didn’t take long for temptation to surface, jealousy to form and promises to be broken.
But Austin is determined to have it all as he promises Amber the life they always dreamed of. But eventually, the long distance breaks them. And him. Years later, Austin and Amber’s paths cross again. Fresh from rehab, Austin’s prepared more than ever to reclaim the life he was meant to live and this includes a life with Amber.
Soon they find themselves battling between following the love that’s still in their hearts and the repeated failures of a life together.
Will the lingering blame and doubt from years of broken promises be enough to break them once and for all?

EXCERPT

The nervous flutter that has taken residence in my stomach turns into a raging swarm of motion as I sit in my car and reread Austin’s text. I’ve tortured myself, reading his vague words at least a hundred times since first receiving them two days ago. I haven’t heard from him in weeks and I miss him. I don’t want to, but I do.
I fell in love with Austin Harris in the tenth grade. He’s the love of my life, I know that, but we can’t be together. We’ve proven that repeatedly. Regardless, life continues to carve a path back to one another. It’s like a sick experiment by a higher power to see how many times a heart can break until it just stops beating.
A shiver vibrates through my body when I open my car door to step onto the busy sidewalk. I’d like to think it’s the chill of another fall day in New York, but I know it’s not. It’s my nerves causing the tremble in my steps. As my unsteady feet take me further from the safety of my car, my stomach threatens its upheaval and I swallow hard.
“One foot in front of the other. Breathe, Amber,” I mumble to myself like a crazy person as I walk the two blocks to the community center.
When my company transferred me from St. Louis to New York just two months ago, I never dreamed our paths would cross the same week. I’d spent the first month in New York living with my best friend, Kelly. When Austin was released from rehab, he became her second houseguest since he’s best friends with her husband, Kyle.
During those short two weeks when we both lived under one roof, I made sure my job kept me busy and out of their house for long hours each day. I avoided him, at least in person, but never in thought.
He’s always with me, regardless of distance and time.
I’m powerless and I know it.
I glance up to the bold black numbers above the glass door, checking the address once more. With a deep breath, I step inside the dingy hall of the community center. Worn black and white linoleum square tiles color the floor in a checkerboard pattern while billboards litter the walls. My gaze is drawn to the different sized colored flyers that hang from the cork with equally bright colored thumbtacks. They advertise everything from trade schools to substance abuse meetings.
“Can I help you?” an older man asks, slowing his pace as he rounds the corner.
“I-I have a friend who has asked me to come here today,” I stutter, not really knowing why I’m here, only that Austin’s text said it was important to him.
The man’s chocolate eyes soften as his smile claims his face. “Ah, yes. Come this way. I’ll show you.” He turns and leads the way down the hall. I follow him silently, no less nervous than I was when walking in.
“Right in here. We should begin in just a couple of minutes.” He motions toward the open door.
“Thank you.” I offer a meek smile before stepping over the threshold.
Several sets of unfamiliar eyes land on me as I narrow my sights on an open area in the front corner of the room. I keep my head down, avoiding eye contact with those in the room, trying to hide my unease as I step carefully between the rows of metal chairs and settle into the last seat near the wall. I focus on the one lonely plastic chair sitting front and center of the small makeshift stage and concentrate on breathing, trying to forget the buzzing nervousness that has taken control of my stomach.
A large, African American man dressed in all black draws my attention as he finds a seat across the room. I’d recognize Dave Smith anywhere. He’s hard to forget at six foot eight and all muscle. Last I knew, he was a bodyguard for Ashton Harris, Austin’s older brother and lead guitarist to Silver Knight.
Silver Knight wasn’t Ashton’s dream; it was Austin’s. He and Kyle started it when we were in high school. Ashton only stepped in when Austin was sent to rehab and the label threatened to cut Silver Knight weeks before their first tour. He saved the band for Austin and the others, but it was never supposed to be his forever. Austin was to return when he beat his addiction, only that day hasn’t come.
My breath catches and my heart stutters as Ashton and his girlfriend, Meagan, walk in and take seats in the back row. I’m certain he blames me for Austin’s addiction and wouldn’t be happy if he knew I was here, but I have a hard time pulling my eyes away. With the exception of a little size—and a whole lot of confidence—he and Austin look identical. Ashton commands the room’s attention when he enters and makes no apologies for it. Austin doesn’t possess that quality now because his addiction took it—or maybe it was rehab. He turns heads for his good looks, but that attention comes from women. Even straight men notice Ashton.
The same man who showed me the room walks up the center aisle, steps onto the small platform, and clears his throat. “Thank you for coming, ladies and gentlemen. Most of you know how this works, but I see a few new faces, so I’ll explain briefly. This is a no judge zone. What is said in this room is not to be taken for granted. The words spoken by anyone who wishes to speak are the feelings, the regrets, and the hopes of the individual speaking them. We will be respectful of those words at all times. We don’t follow scripts or take assigned turns. If you want to speak and the floor is open, you take it. If you don’t want to speak, you don’t have to. With that, I’ll open the floor.”
Austin appears out of nowhere, stepping up on the stage and sliding onto the lone chair. His dark brown hair is longer than the buzzed cut he’d sported directly after rehab. His leg begins bouncing up and down; this is the first time I can recall him nervous on a stage. He leans forward and rests his elbows on his thighs as he studies the floor. Lifting his focus, he looks toward the back and I know without following his line of sight that he’s looking at Ashton. He takes a deep breath with a long exhale before he speaks.
“I didn’t have anything growing up, but I never recognized that because of my older brother. He provided love, support, an ass beating every now and then.” Austin laughs lightly. “I had great friends. No, I have great friends,” he corrects. “We had dreams of being the best rock band in the world and we were on our way. I was on my way until I thought I was unbeatable. My life was on the fast track and there was no stopping me.” He pauses, taking his attention from the back of the room and landing it directly on me.
“I had the love of my life by my side, a bright career ahead of me and lots of money being pushed my way. There was nothing I couldn’t conquer, until the most important piece of my perfect world stepped out of it. I couldn’t cope without her, so to soothe myself I drank and drank, until that wasn’t enough. Eventually, I added drugs to my cocktail. I took them by any means to feel the high. Swallowing them, snorting them, injecting them … I stopped at nothing to stop the pain of losing her.”
His eyes hold mine captive until I can no longer focus through my tears. I look down, not wanting him to see my carefully constructed walls crumbling. Those walls protect me from Austin; I need them. And more importantly, I need him to think they exist.
“I can’t tell you how many times I wanted to clean up my life during that dark period, but I was powerless. The once unbeatable kid from the ghetto of St. Louis was beaten by it all. My brother swooped to my rescue, and to the rescue of my friends. He gave up his dreams for mine and for theirs. I vowed to him and all of them that I would get clean, and I did, but I didn’t stay that way. And again, I got clean and didn’t stay that way. Letting down my brother, my friends, losing the only woman I’ve ever loved and coming close to death by way of overdose … none of it rattled me enough to stay straight.”
His pause causes me to look up again. His gaze is on the ominous-looking Dave. Tears spill when I close my eyes, holding them shut briefly, saying a silent thank you to Dave for saving Austin’s life from overdose.
“My brother is still rescuing me, but he’s changed and I can’t help but think it’s because of the love of the incredible woman he has by his side. Together they’ve inspired me to want to be better, to give back for all the wrongs I’ve done. Recently he allowed me to step into what my former life would have been and let me tell you, it was a hell of a lot sweeter than anything I lived while high. I plan on renewing my promise to him and to my friends because even if I can’t live that life with them, another door will open. And I know there is something just as good waiting for me there.”
Austin stands from the chair and within a few long steps, he’s down the center walkway and in his brother’s open arms. Their quiet, inaudible mumbles fill the room before walking out. Dave’s large body rises from his seat, his expression is strained with tension, visibly choked up by Austin’s comments and exits the room.
I stay in my seat, stunned motionless by his words. I replay them on repeat and one thing stands out that I hadn’t heard before.
Regret.
Deep regret.

Review
By Barbara Danks

Did you ever imagine what it would be like to be the love interest of a really hot rock star? Well neither did Layla until she finds herself at a Ozstryker rock concert.

Sexy as sin rock stars, two sisters, and a chance of a lifetime sets the tone of this fantastic book. Layla and Beth are sisters; although, they are as different as night and day. At the begging and insistence of Beth, Layla finds herself in the very front row of the Ozstryker Band concert. Layla has no idea who this band is, but for sure there were thousands of other girls like her sister who loved them confirmed by the deafening screaming while they were on stage. They were Beth’s “absolute favorite band in the entire world”. Layla couldn’t help but notice how gorgeous the lead singer Jimmy was, but then she caught the eyes of the lead guitarist, Jax and she was mesmerized by his physical beauty. Try as she might, she couldn’t help staring at him, but what was crazier, was that she caught him staring back at her. She is thinking, this is crazy, he would never be interested in plain old her, not when he could have any girl in the entire world. He was a “rock star”!!!

The next thing you know, she is given backstage passes and it’s a whirlwind of meeting this beautiful man and the band members who knows that she is a nice girl unlike the groupies who are there for only one thing. Jax persuades her to go on a date and before you know it she is accepting the job as band photographer since the one the band had just left, and it’s off on the tour with the band.

Jax and Layla’s story is not all hearts and flowers, but it is sweet, sad at times, honest always and beautiful to see how the author brings these two from such different worlds together.

I loved everything about this story and hope you will too!!!

Rosie’s Book Heaven was given a copy of this book in exchange for an honest review

About the Author:

I have written stories for as long as I can remember. I wrote my first book when I was five years old. It was called, The Goodies, and it was a short story about driving to the shops to get some milk. Needless to say, it was a very short book and hardly the page turner. It was also illustrated in orange felt tip pen because it was the only felt tip pen left in the pencil case that wasn’t dried up and useless.

My first attempt at writing romance was in high school when my athletic ambitions were replaced with Sunday sessions in my bestfriends bedroom, smoking cigarettes and writing smut about the hot guy at school. They were dreadfully crude stories. Lots of awkward fumblings in the dark or a series of awful first kisses. They were also very straight forward. Very straight to the point. Because I didn’t have a clue about what I was talking about. And I used terrible words such as “shaft”, “her moist warmth” and “velvet cavern”…yeah, they were awesome.

In following years I wisely gave up the cigarettes, became Mum to the “best kid in the world” and married a vastly understanding and supportive soul who tolerated the complete absence of my inner domestic goddess. Through a lot of trial and error, I think I may have started to write stories other people would want to read … without an orange felt tip pen in sight…

Brand-new New Adult Rock Star Romance
from USA Today-Bestselling Author Blair Babylon!
What happens when a Rock Star in Disguise meets a Billionaire in hiding?
Georgie doesn’t know who she is dating.
At a high society wedding, Georgie Johnson is introduced to Alexandre de Valentinois, a hereditary duke of nothing who flies around the world on his private planes and describes himself as “one of those despicable, idle rich men.” Yet, when pressed, he sings at the wedding in a gorgeous, clear tenor that tugs at Georgie’s soul, and miraculously, he calms her paralyzing stage fright so she can accompany him on the piano, even though she thought she had left her classical music career behind when she went into hiding.
But Alexandre has a dark side. His name is Xan Valentine, and he’s the rock star front man for Killer Valentine. He’s famous, but his paparazzi-dogged lifestyle might expose Georgie and get her killed.

Excerpt:
In the elevator, Georgie stood against the back wall while Alex slid a keycard into a slot above the buttons, backed away from her, and stared at the flickering floor display the whole time, which just about drove her insane until she saw the black dome embedded in the ceiling.
Okay, Georgie didn’t want to end up immortalized as a GIF entitled #GetARoom, either. She twirled her purse dangling from her wrist to pass the long, drawn-out, agonizing seconds while the elevator ascended, the increased velocity dragging at her feet.
Far up in the hotel, the elevator doors parted, and Alex seized her hand again and tugged her out of the elevator. Three doors led off the short hallway, and Georgie realized they were up in the suites.
Alex said, “It’s small. The hotel was sold out. Flicka and her wedding party booked the better suites months ago, so I was only able to get a deluxe.”
Georgie’s heart jumped in her chest, and her hands felt empty because she wasn’t touching him. “Just get us in there.”
His grin bore a touch of desperation as he flung open the door and pulled her inside after him.
Georgie caught a glimpse of a blue and white living room and a dining room with a table for six, and the scent of the white rose bundles filled the rooms as Alex pulled her though the suite. In the bedroom, golden silk draped the bed, and a breeze fluttered the white curtains over the window that was open to a view over the skyline of Paris. She tossed her purse on a nightstand.
Alex grabbed her arms, whirling her around, and he pushed her against the closed door and kissed her. The scent of sweet champagne flooded her mouth, and she breathed deeply. His forearms were braced against the door around her head, almost caging her as he bent to her. Georgie wound her arms around his neck, her fingers sliding into his long hair at the back of his neck. Alex groaned against her lips and reared back, then dipped his head to run his teeth over her neck. He shrugged his suit coat off behind himself, the dark blue fabric falling on the carpeting.
She dropped her hand, caressing his side through his shirt. Bulges of muscle rippled under her fingers. Even while his hot mouth blew champagne-scented breath on her neck, Georgie explored his body with her hands. She grabbed fistfuls of his shirt, pulling the fine cloth out of his waistband, and she ducked her hand under his shirt and soft undershirt beneath.
Ridges of muscle met her palm. He panted against her shoulder as she ran her palms and fingers into the furrows between his abdominals and up to the lean bulges of his pecs.
His hands smoothed over her hips, reaching for the zipper down her backside.
This felt tawdry, a quick fuck at a wedding with the guy she had performed a song with, and that was fantastic. Long-term relationships and even repeat sex weren’t on her agenda. Alex probably lived in Europe, and if they ever ran into each other again, they could be amicable and polite, and he would be just another guy that she used to fuck.
Perfect.

Kiefer Steele, vocalist for Shock Treatment, has been battling some demons of his own. He’s been a nothing most of his life, but world-famous J.C. Excerpt

They walked off the deck and Kiefer said, “So what did you want to talk about?”

“Hmm. I’m not even sure where to start.”

“No pressure.” Kiefer looked up toward the mountain across the road. It was covered in evergreen trees and the sky above was a light blue, clean and clear. He could see why Johnny wanted to live here. Regular worries were gone, far and away, and it was like regular shit just didn’t matter.

Heather stopped walking, so Kiefer slowed and turned to face her. “Um…I have a proposal for you.”

He raised his eyebrow. “Yeah?”

“Yeah.” She drew in a deep breath and looked in his eyes, but he could tell it was hard for her. “I, uh…I don’t want or need a relationship. But I’m so glad you’re my friend.”

Kiefer smiled. “Ditto.”

“So…just so we can get it out of our systems…why don’t we, uh, explore our attraction, but…when we leave here, things go back to the way they were.” Kiefer drew in a long, slow breath. Was she saying what he thought she was? “That sound okay?”

Honestly, no, it sounded like a cop-out. He thought some of telling her that, but he wanted her. He wanted her to continue to be a part of her life and he also wanted to step it up a notch after what they had experienced last night. This might be his only chance to convince her that a more intense relationship could be a good thing. So he nodded. “Yeah.” On impulse, he took her hand in his. He wanted to start now.

Heather had other ideas, though. “Not here.” Kiefer couldn’t help the look of confusion that he knew appeared on his face. She let go of his hand but got a little closer, almost as though she were afraid someone would be able to hear her. “If we’re going to go back to the way things were after this week, then I don’t want to give anybody here any bright ideas, and I don’t want to answer any questions or deal with any looks.”

He nodded, saying nothing. He could live with that. And that also gave him several days to see what he could do to change her mind.
